Sunday School happens during our 10am Sunday service, after the children's prayer. For preschoolers through to grade eight.
Children begin their time together with a high energy worship session, and then break into smaller groups for Sunday School where they are learning about the Bible through the curriculum, "The Gospel Project."
First Congregational is committed to providing a safe, caring, and fun environment where all children will be introduced to the God of the Bible and His love for them. A team of volunteers, equipped and passionate about leading children in age-specific settings, assist in challenging children to follow Jesus. Providing programs for specific ages enables us to effectively communicate who God is in a relevant way.
To ensure the security of every child, all volunteers complete a screening process and a criminal record check.
We have two nurseries: one where parents or caregivers can go with infants, and one for toddlers, which is cared for by at least two volunteers every week. Nursery workers have current criminal record checks as well. Toddlers are encouraged to engage in the worship time with the older children, and those who are old enough to understand are welcome to join with the preschool Sunday School class. The infant nursery has a large screen where you can view the entire service live, if you would prefer to feed your baby or have him or her in a more quiet space during the service. Inquiries about our Nursery may be directed to our Nursery Coordinator, Mary-Jean.
